Community

We creatively engage with our local community taking regular visits to West Tarring Allotments, Heaton House Dementia Care Home and other local small businesses and local places of interest. We are committed to nurturing happy confident, capable children who feel empowered in their familiar environment. Embracing the natural environment develops a curiosity and resilience, enabling them to appreciate the world around them.

Intergenerational Connections

We take regular weekly visits to Heaton House to spend time with the nannies, where meaningful relationship across generations, provide opportunities between the children and the elderly, to connect and develop empathy as well as a sense of belonging. We engage in a weekly drumming session that develops coordination, recall and musicality. Dom the drumming leader, provides the chance for the children to teach the nannies their favourite songs and vice versa with the children developing a love for generational classics such as 'Lollypop and 'yellow submarine'

A love for the Natural World

The children develop a curiosity, resilience and appreciation for the natural world through spending regular sessions outdoors, on and off site. We take regular visits to West Tarring Allotments where the children observe nature at its best. The children begin understand the cycles of growth and decay and how to care for living things. The nature area on the site provides opportunities for the children to recognise creatures in their natural habitats.
